2008 Annual Dinner General Meeting and Dinner

The Annual General Meeting and Dinner in 2008 was held on 24th October. The General Meeting has passed the President Report, the Treasurer Report, the resolution on two amendments to the Article of Association regarding the effective date of annual subscription paid by new members and the addition of Student Membership. At the Meeting, Mr. William Cao (Merchandising Controller- CR Care Co. Ltd.), Mr. Simon Mak (Merchandise Director-Watson’s The Chemist) and Mr. Taky Woo (Director-Merchandise, Mannings) were elected Council Member by majority votes. The number of members in the Council increased from 9 to 12. This will strengthen the work of the Association and enhance the variety of activities in the long run. There are four committees that welcome members to join. They are Position Paper Committee, Public Relation Committee, Member Relationship Committee, and Regulatory Affairs Committee. The annual dinner was held at the evening with 5 tables occupied. The president Angela Lau gave a welcome speech followed by speech of Legislative Councilor, Hon Vincent Fang, SBS, JP who represents the wholesale and retail functional constituency. His speech topic was “The future prospect of health food industry from the perspective of Government Policy”. Another Legislative Councilor, Dr Hon Joseph Lee, JP was invited to present appointment certificate to the new Council Members and supervised their taking oath. Senior Pharmacist, Ms. Linda Woo, represented the Chief Pharmacist to present membership certificate to 07/08 new members. Two rounds of Lucky Draw were drawn. The grand prize of the evening sponsored by the Association was awarded to a new member, Mr. Pang of Hin Sang Hong.
