The Hong Kong Health Food Association held its 18th Anniversary Dinner and Awards Ceremony

The Hong Kong Health Food Association held its 18th Anniversary Dinner and Awards Ceremony on November 14, 2023. The event was attended by guests from various sectors and backgrounds, including Government Directors, Legislative Councilor, university professors, representatives from trade associations, general manager of chain stores in China, stakeholders and association members. The event took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, where participants gathered to share the efforts and achievements of the past year. Over a decade ago, there was limited awareness of health food among the public. Thanks to the association’s years of silent dedication and the sowing of solid seeds, health food has now gained widespread acceptance, leading to a thriving industry.

The event was honored to have Hon Shiu Ka-fai, JP, a member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as the guest of honor and keynote speaker. Mr. Shiu commended the association for its longstanding commitment to improving the acceptability of health food, encouraging industry peers to develop new products, enhancing the competitiveness of health food in Hong Kong, and delivering accurate health messages to the public to safeguard their well-being.

During the dinner, Ms. Joanne Cheung, the President of the Hong Kong Health Food Association, delivered a speech. She acknowledged the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which severely affected the business environment. Despite the challenging circumstances, the association remained resilient, steadfast in its commitment to providing members with abundant industry information and market conditions. Through diverse promotion channels, exhibitions, business matching, and industry exchange activities, the association has helped members expand their networks in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and the international market, creating business opportunities.

The evening also witnessed the presentation of the “Most Outstanding Performance Health Food Company Award,” which aimed to recognize outstanding companies within the industry for their contributions to society, the industry, and consumers. The award aimed to encourage continuous improvement and elevate industry standards for the ultimate benefit of consumers. Nine companies competed for the award, leading to intense competition. Based on the scoring criteria in five categories, including business philosophy and leadership, product research and innovation, market strategy, customer service, and corporate social responsibility, three companies, namely Noble Health Company Ltd., Nu Life International (Asia) Ltd., and The International Medical Co., Ltd. were awarded the accolade.

Hong Kong Health Food Association introduced the “Quality Product Seal,” which is awarded to products that meet the committee’s verified safety specifications and production standards, providing consumers with greater assurance when choosing products. The two companies to receive this recognition were Best World Lifestyle (HK) Co., Ltd. And Nu Life International (Asia) Ltd.

In conclusion, the event was filled with excitement, and the President, Miss Joanne Cheung and Vice President, Miss Vivien Chou and Mr. William Tsui of the association commended the dedicated directors and members who wholeheartedly served and performed outstandingly over the past year. With the inauguration of the new President, Mr. Tse Tin-chak, and the Council, a new milestone in the association’s journey was marked.
