The Hong Kong Health Food Association held its 20th Anniversary Dinner and Awards Ceremony

The Hong Kong Health Food Association held its 20th Anniversary Dinner and Awards Ceremony on November 18, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui. The evening was graced by a distinguished gathering of guests, including senior representatives from government departments, the Legislative Council, academia, the business community, and mainland chain pharmacies, as well as partners and association members, who came together to witness the association’s achievements over the years and celebrate this important milestone in its 20th anniversary.

The gala dinner was honored to have Dr Bernard CHAN Pak-li, JP Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as the officiating guest and to deliver the opening speech. Dr. Bernard Chan fully affirmed the association’s contributions over the years in enhancing the acceptance of health foods, promoting product research and development, and strengthening the industry’s competitiveness, and praised the association’s positive role in conveying accurate health information and protecting public health.

In his speech, Mr. Ryan Tse, President of the Association, pointed out that the Hong Kong health food industry is facing a critical opportunity for expansion and transformation. He further analyzed, “With the accelerating aging population and the continuous improvement of citizens’ health awareness, the market demand for nutritional supplements and functional foods continues to grow. A 2024 Hong Kong health food market survey showed that approximately 23% of respondents increased their health food consumption after the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting the public’s high regard for health management. It is estimated that total national expenditure on health foods will reach HK$18.5 billion in 2024, demonstrating enormous market potential and development space.”

To recognize outstanding companies in the industry for their exceptional contributions to society, the industry, and consumers, the dinner featured the “Supportive Member to Association” award, with 12 companies receiving this honor (listed in no particular order):

The dinner also presented the “Quality Product Seal”. The Seal logo, awarded after rigorous review of product safety specifications and production standards by the Association’s committee, provides consumers with an important reference for selecting high-quality health food products. The award recipients this year are Enzyme Design Limited and Nu Life International (Asia) Limited.

The gala dinner featured a variety of exciting programs, including a performance by renowned singer Joe Junior and an exciting lucky draw, creating a vibrant atmosphere. In a warm and solemn ceremony, President Mr. Ryan Tse, Vice Presidents Ms. Vivien Chou, Mr. Terry Chiu, Ms. Nicole Leung, and a group of honorary presidents jointly commended the council members who made outstanding contributions to the Association over the past year, marking a memorable milestone in the Association’s 20th anniversary.

Looking to the future, the Hong Kong Health Food Association will continue to uphold its mission of advocating for the industry, and under the leadership of President Mr. Ryan Tse and the Board of council members, will promote the vigorous development of the industry, strengthen consumer education, and create a brighter future for the Hong Kong health food industry.
