Response rate was 69.3%. The survey discovered 34.8% respondents took health food during the six months prior to the survey, among which the majority are females, managerial staff \/employers, income above 20,000 and of higher education background. Vitamins or minerals are most popular (22.4%), followed by health supplements (13.4%), then Chinese dietary supplements (11.9%) and vegetable\/fruit supplements (5.9%). It also revealed that those who have taken health food on average took 1.9 types per day. The survey has found out Over 70% respondents indicated that product safety is very important and nearly 60% think that product quality is very important. From the data analysis, it is estimated about 2 million residents are taking health food products regularly.
