Food Labeling Seminar If a health food in oral dosage form does not qualify by legal definition to be a drug, it will automatically fall into in the category of food. This type of health food must adhere to the requirements set out in the Food Labeling Regulation. Albeit, the requirements are not suitable for labeling health food, the industry has to abide by the law. As the food additives labeling will become mandatory on 10 July 2007. Product Registration Talk Department of Health requires vitamin or mineral containing health food to be registered as pharmaceutical product before selling. Small and medium enterprises, in general, are not familiar with the registration process and requirements in detail. Therefore, the　Association has requested the Department to speak on the subject. China Health Food Regulation Workshop The Workshop was held on 23 March 2007 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The morning session speaker was Ms. Wang Liping, Deputy Chief, Department of Nutrition, Food & Drug Administration of Guangdong Province, China. She spoke on the concept of food health, the present health food trend in China, and the regulations to regulate and register health foods. Spring Dinner 2007 The Association has organized a Spring Dinner function on 22 March 2007 at the World Trade Centre Club. Before the dinner, Dr. Hon. The Latest Regulations of Dietary Supplement in the U.S. The Association has organized a talk on the Dietary Supplement Regulation in the U.S. on 12 March 2007 in the Senate Room on 16/F., Li Ka Shing Building, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The guest speaker is Dr. Roger Clemens, Director, Regulatory Science Department, School of Pharmacy, University of Southern California.
